We use Canada Post to ship our small packages. Our website will direct you automatically to the Canada Post website and you can choose whichever service is best for you as long as it has a tracking number. The tracking number ensures that there is proof that the package was sent on a certain date. In the rare case where the package does not arrive within a reasonable period, the tracking number enables Timbuktu and Canada Post to trace it and eventually claim back the cost of the item and the postage if it does appear to be lost.

Expedited Parcel Post:

Basic Service, Tracking Number, and $100 insurance included
Estimated delivery time given at time of processing. Generally 5 to 15 business days.

Xpress Post:

Faster Service, More Expensive, Tracking Number, and $100 insurance included
Estimated delivery time given at time of processing. Generally 3 to 7 business days.

Priority Courier:

Fastest possible service, Most Expensive, Tracking Number, and $100 insurance included.
Generally 1 to 5 business days.

USA

Note:    There is no duty on packages with goods valued at less than $200.  All packages must clear US customs.

Expedited Parcel Post

depending on how long it takes the package to clear US customs.

Xpress Post:

Faster Service, More Expensive,  Tracking Number, and $100 insurance included. Additional insurance can be purchased at the rate of $ 1.20/$100 of insurance to maxiumum of $1000. Generally 3 to 7 business days, depending on how long it takes the package to clear US customs. There is no duty on packages with goods valued at less than $200.  Generally 3 to 8 business days,
depending on how long it takes the package to clear US customs.

Priority Worldwide

Fastest possible service, Most Expensive, Tracking Number, and $100 insurance included.
Generally 2 to 5 business days

Clothing

We can mail our clothing to you anywhere in Canada and the USA, using Expedited Parcel Post or Xpresspost. However, you need to phone or email us first to find out if we have your size.

Furniture Sales

We have shipped furniture all over North America. However shipping rates vary tremendously according to the size of the piece of furniture and where you live. Most of our furniture is shipped by truck and the trucking companies charge is based on a pallet rate. Pallets measure 40 inches X 48 inches and the maximum height allowed on a pallet is 96 inches. This means that you pay the same for one piece of furniture as for 6 pieces of furniture, as long as they fit on this pallet.

The price of shipping by truck varies along with the price of gas. Therefore, if you are interested in our furniture, we need you to provide us with details of where you live as well as what pieces of furniture you might like. We can then call our trucking company and ask them for a quote.

Here are some examples of what it costs to ship one of our 6 foot long solid hardwood dining tables and 6 chairs to various places in Canada and the United States. We will add a 5 % packing charge to cover our time and packing material costs. For shipments to the USA, there will be a customs broker fee and customs duty, which you will need to pay. We will organize a customs broker for you. All the rates listed below are based on estimates made in May 2009 and are subject to change according to the price of gasoline.

We can ship small pieces of furniture such as our nightstands by Bus Parcel Express and Fedex, but they have restrictions on size and weight.
