Timbuktu is known for its unique collection of furniture, home furnishings, clothing, accessories, jewelry, and giftware. Almost everything at Timbuktu is hand made, using natural fibers. Our products are well made, reasonably priced, and very durable. In business in downtown Toronto since 1979, Timbuktu is a great place to visit --- a store that is as interesting as a museum. You don't have to live here however to enjoy Timbuktu's wonderful products as we ship all over North America.

Furniture

• Timbuktu's furniture is hand crafted in Rajasthan, India and made of Indian hardwoods such as shisham, mango, and acacia. Our collection includes traditional, contemporary, and ethnic styles, in natural and dark finishes. We carry dining tables and chairs, coffee tables, book shelves, console tables, desks, screens, end tables, nightstands, sideboards, TV stands, entertainment units, armoires, chests of drawers, and wardrobes. Every six weeks we receive a new container of furniture and our selection is constantly changing. If you live in the area, it's a good idea to drop by on a regular basis to see what has just arrived in the latest shipment. You don't have to live in Toronto however to decorate with our furniture as we can ship it anywhere in continental North America.

Home Furnishings

• Our home furnishing line complements our furniture and includes curtains, bedspreads, duvet covers, sofa covers, tablecloths, cushion covers, stuffed floor and chair cushions, and wall hangings. Everything has been made by hand and is either block printed, embroidered, appliqu'd, or hand loomed. Most of our home furnishings are made of 100% cotton, but we also carry some items made of silk and wool. Our range varies from ethnic to traditional to contemporary.

Clothing

• Timbuktu clothing is also very distinctive and has a timeless quality which never goes out of style. We carry an extensive range of washable linens made by Click and Cut Loose of California, which our customers love for work and home and for their ability to mix and match with many things. Desert Fashion's hand loomed rayon clothing is often a fall favorite and is prized for its unstructured original styling and comfortable elegance. Woolrich is known for its well priced 100% cotton casual separates. Our Mountain Folk line from Ecuador is made of 100% cotton and has a wide range of attractive dresses and separates, ranging from small to plus sizes. Anokhi, our signature summer collection is some of the most extraordinarily beautiful hand printed clothing you will ever see, printed on the finest quality of 100% cotton muslin. There is nothing that is more comfortable to wear in hot summer weather than Anokhi.

Jewelry, Accessories, Giftware, and Much More

• We also have an unusual selection of jewelry, accessories, and giftware. Our costume jewelry is very artistic and reasonably priced, made of glass, bone, horn, and metal. If you love scarves and shawls, you'll be in heaven at Timbuktu, which has an extensive collection of hand loomed rayon and hand printed cotton scarves and woven woolen and rayon shawls in solid colors and patterns. Our giftware is very eclectic and ranges from beautifully hand painted paper mache boxes in many sizes and designs to hooks, knobs, notebooks, bells, and worry dolls from Guatemala. We also carry African masks and brass sculpture of Indian deities.
